I want to study hypoglycemic , hypolipidemic , and anti -inflammatory effects of spirulina cultivated in iran for firs time recently .
But until now cosumption of spirulina as a food supplement isn't common in Iran ,and industrial foods enriched with spirulina platensis don’t produce. would you please help me?
I would recommend fermenting the spirulina which removes the fishy odours and taste and boosts the availability of the amino acids and enriches the vitamins.
I'm not sure about how to process the spirulina itself to reduce the fishy odour, however have used it myself many times and find that although the odour is strong, if you mix it with ingredients such as spinach, almond milk, honey and peanut butter, it tastes great, is really healthy and doesn't have any fishy odour or taste.
'how to process the spirulina itself to reduce the fishy odour,'
Ferment the spirulina with Lactobacilli and the fishy odor disappears. Also, the B12 rises, the proteins are broken down to free amino acids and the whole nutritional profile improves dramatically.

It is very interesting to do fermentation with Spirulina. Do we need to add sugar with Lactobacillus into fresh Spirulina in order to start the fermentation process?
We have a supply of fresh spirulina in Bangkok, Thailand. however we are on the product development process in order to extend the shelf life of Spirulina without drying and turn into powder or tablet.
