Thus, over three quarters of fish stocks caught are now considered to be fully exploited or overexploited.
There are some time lags between countries, some having reached the peak earlier than others, but all are tending towards the same trajectory.
This decline requires the bioressources management on a sound scientific basis, hence the role of research. %���
