African Magur will simply wipe out any resident species. Introduction of Common carp in some cold water reservoirs in India has drastically brought down the population of endemic minor carps.

It is more like interactions between native fish and non-native acclimated fish introduced for the purposes of fish farming (especially in freshwater) such as:prolific breeding, predation, competition for food and habitat, genetic impacts as contamination of local genetic pools and transmission of parasites.

I believe that it is always dangerous to introduce some species, both in marine ecosystems and in freshwater, especially if it is predatory species. So-called "alien" species that have arrived in the Mediterranean through the Suez Canal or across the Strait of Gibraltar are other issues as somehow their arrival must be considered natural. As examples of species introduced more or less voluntarily by man I know only the case of the wels catfish (Silurus glanis, Linnaeus, 1758). This fish is originated in the major rivers of Eastern Europe. It was introduced in: Great Britain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, northern Italy, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Algeria, Cyprus, Tunisia, China and Afghanistan. It seems that in Northern Italy the consequences for all other species of rivers and lakes are disastrous. Still different issues present active restocking with native species. Before restocking, it is necessary to know well the life cycle of the species being restocked and, on the other hand, to have historical serie of catch and effort data so that a minimum assessment of the fish stock, that may be involved, it is possible before and after the repopulation intervention. In 2005, we carried out an active repopulation intervention with Melicertus kerathurus (Forskäl, 1775) in the wide gulf between Capo San Marco and Capo Granitola along the southwestern coast of Sicily.
