Polycarbonate (PC) tends to fail in presence of residual strains and certain solvents in the environment. Can inorganic fillers such as TiO2, CaCO3, etc. play any beneficial role towards minimization of ESC behavior, besides other functions such as pigmentation and toughness enhancement? What types of materials and morphologies (at the nanoscale), if any, offer strong potential for evolution of such PC based nanocomposites?
