I have a mixture of two neutral liquids and I would like to know whether the complex has formed. I do not have access to electrical conductivity test. Can anyone suggest a reliable method to test for salt formation? I have done IR spectroscopy but I need to confirm the results.
There is still a place for simple straightforward tests, as follows:
I am sure that you can make a simple complete electric circuit to which a small electric bulb is connected & the electric source is two 1.5 volt batteries. Place the 2 end-exposed electric wires coming from the circuit inside the mixture of the 2 neutral liquids.
If there is "good" ionization, then the bulb will send light that is well-percepted.
If there is "weak" ionization, then you will sense "faint' light. Ions conduct electricity, of course.
In both cases, a salty material has formed since a salt combines anion & cation.

if you have a mixture of two neutral liquids, the complex is to be formed between what and what if I have well understood your request? Please more clarification?
