I have two set of data, one data consist of Teachers response on Emotional Intelligence scale and second data is of students response on student's engagement scale. What statistical analysis shall i use, to relate these two set of data?
You could see if the average student engagement in a class is correlated with their teachers’ emotional intelligence. Your unit of analysis would then be the classroom, with points defined by (student engagement, teacher emotional intelligence). Best wishes with your project Gitanjali! ~ Kevin
Well, I am planning to sort teachers with respect to their scores on Emotional intelligence as three groups namely, low, average and high. Then, measure each group with respective students' response on student engagement scale by comparing descriptive stats (esp. Range). Please share your views.
I have used Emotional intelligence scale by Dr. Priya Nair and The Student Engagement Instrument (SEI; Appleton, Christenson, Kim, & Reschly, 2006) developed to measure the two higher-inference types of student engagement--affective and cognitive--via student self-report.
