It is difficult to keep up with cutting edge-, rapid detection, -technologies when such high quantities of microbiological research are based on PCR assays. Has PCR been overcome by assays such as LAMP or GreenLight? Are there rapid detection-technologies that have been introduced within the last 7-10 years that exceed the efficiency of the discussed methods and, if so, what are they?
