Difficult to find frameworks that are wide enough in scope to take into account the multiple theoretical models that are congenial in 21st century learning but two appeal to me in our current landscape:
- Active learning: with its unique blend of constructivism, social-constructivism, technology rich pedagogy, critical pedagogy, strength based learning, PBL & experiential learning, student centered learning and accessibility.
- The other is Universal Design for Learning are it focuses on learner diversity and inclusion, and offers a model perhaps better suited to HE than differentiation. See http://udloncampus.cast.org/home#.W2w5ptJKjIU
I try to use interaction generally. I would avoid using the same method all the time though, as it might get boring for students. Moreover, different topics might call for different methods.
In order to be effective with a diverse student body (as my university has) you have to vary your methods to reach students in a variety of ways. I agree with Konstantinos. All students do not learn in the same way. Look at the writings of Kolb.
First of all we have to write instructional objective . We must understand the learning style of our students.Teacher talking time should be less and students talking time should be more. Instructional objectives ,learning style and Learning outcomes are the main components which can decide the methods of teaching. Methods are always flexible .
I do not have an infallible method, each group of students is different and within the group there are differences; so we try to work all the learning styles and some combinations that facilitate the process, but as it was said there is no infallible method for it
Well, I use a variety of methods when teaching my classes. In my opinion, there is no single best method to teach a subject. Any teaching method which is applied appropriately and in harmony with students' learning styles and strategies, I would say, is the best method.
