Early career-researchers are disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in academics, as they often struggle with precarious working situations and they are seeing many doors shutting future career opportunities.

The lockdowns have reduced their opportunities of collaborations - and hence of enriching their CV's with publications or research visits; and early-career researchers are less likely to be enrolled in new projects emerging during the lockdown than their seniors with more stable work contracts. PhD students with set scholarships or funding are likely to fail meeting deadlines.

Some institutions have taken specific measures to mitigate harmful impact on early career-researchers. What are your labs and institutions doing?
