That should be quite easy if you would be able to define what are the „causes” of a particular style and then compare all of them by doing a breakdown. I guess this is what architectural historians always do when they point out at historical events, social or religious movement etc. Problem is that, with historical events, you have a relatively uncertain geographical overlapping. Then again, if you have a style that is particular to a region and then becomes global, local constrains/causes/determinants have to be dismissed (i.e. Florentine and Moorish architecture in Bucharest). Anyhow, cool question, good luck with that!
Thank you very much for your concern.I am looking stylistic influence of Mughal architecture on Malaysian Mosque. I have recognized the eight features (like domes etc.) of Mughal architecture in Malaysian mosques. On the basis of there similarity model and feature matching I want to measure the level of influence.
Firstly the term Mughal generally refers to a stylistic era in 15th n 16th century .at the time Malaysia is dominated by Melaka.and is not even named Malaysia..the name of the nation...Malaysia only came in 1963.
I think what u meant is either
the Indo Saracenic style introduced as an imperial style by British colonialist.to undersrand Eclectism
Please read
Metcalf. crinson
Also I have discussed in Chapter 2 of
Modernity Nation and Architectural form
2)you may also mean the pastiche or Eclectism in recent years after 1980s as Malaysia saw rise of Islamic consciousness n conservatism
Please also researcn on what are the actual causes of islamic stylistic mimicry in Asia amongst others ..not really to mimic but from a national rush and ..anxiety to develop and depart from physical reminders and Links with colonised past and another .to be part of a global trend
There are also others more minor influences such as Islamic arts .
