As far as I know there aren’t many restrictions nowadays. In fact, almost everything can now be produced, but by a few experts and with high costs. When we really want something to be manufactured, we usually find it, at a cost and with a long production schedule.

When it comes to mass production, existent stocks and low prices, the manufacturers are pretty much from “the old days”, with the significant restrictions that lead to your question.
