I am implementing a cloud version to follow up all our samples and I am looking for a decent and cost/effective system to track the sample storage, use and, possibly, results coming from it.

I highly recommend Labguru (Labguru.com), they have a great inventory management system, and you can integrate it with the E-notebook in the same system.
There's also labeling system for your stocks.

I recommend Genemod for inventory management. They are fairly new but have a very visual interface that makes data entry easy. Both free and paid plans are also available which is a huge plus.
