The antiviral agent Remdesivir has been shown to shorten recovery time in patients with SARS-CoV-2 but is also linked to hepatotoxicity, this possibly linked to the combination with P-glycoprotein inhibitors. Current treatment protocols in hospitals are using Remdesivir with Azithromycin a known P-glycoprotein inhibitor, Amiodarone is as well. Are physicians keeping tabs on what drugs they are giving the most acute cases of ARDS with complications requiring mechanical ventilation and patients who end up with atrial fibrillation, rising liver enzymes, and speeding the organ dysfunction and/or failure?
