Hi,
I wonder a specific solvent that can dissolve only PS out of PS-PMMA.
Of course, solubility depends on molecular weight of polymer, but if it can be excluded for an ideal situation,
I take hydrophilicity into consideration. But, I guess both PS and PMMA are hydrophobic even though PS is more hydrophobic than PMMA.

It has been suggested that 1-chloropentane works well as a selective solvent for PS.

"Once the alloy colloidal crystal is grown, the PS spheres are removed by selective chemical etching by immersing the samples in 99% pure cyclohexane for at least 4 h. This very easy procedure completely removes the PS spheres, leaving the PMMA spheres undisturbed."

Carlos Araújo Queiroz Thank you for the link, it is kind of straightforward to find a good solvent for PS. But, when I want to selectively remove PS out of PS-PMMA, it gets harder and harder. I went through the link and studied. Thank you for the help.
