Yeah, you can call it discourse analysis. I would recommend Nicola Woods' "Describing Discourse: A Practical Guide to Discourse Analysis," to start with. However, how are you planning to assess or evaluate "negative (or positive) impact on the NP profession and more importantly on patient care" using this methodology?

I would not call something ethnography if it is based on secondary analysis of existing data, so critical discourse analysis is a better choice.

As others have suggested, it would not be suitable to call it critical ethnography. If you use PRISMA guidelines to search for the literature sources and the used purpoaive sampling for literature selection. You could call it Critical Review. This type of review aims to develop a conceptual model or offer an critical review of literature in order to develop policy guidelines. Depends on the method you use to analyse what you perceive to be inaccurate comments. It sounds like a thematic analysis but from a critical discourse perspective. As it's secondary analysis of existing texts it is not ethnographic as this would require going into the field and doing some kind of observation.
