I've some Zr samples which are pretty irregular in shape. They need to be mounted before irradiation. Is there any epoxy resin mount that can withstand high temperatures and not react with electro-polishing solution of Perchloric acid as well.
There are several types of epoxy which high density functional groups and provide excellent heat resistance and low thermal expansion.
-Phenolic Novolac Curing • Achieves the world's highest level of heat resistance in epoxy resins Demonstrates a low coefficient of linear expansion • The coefficient of linear expansion (25 to 280°C) decreases about 20% compared to phenolic novolac.
-Imidazole Curing • Achieves an ultra-high glass transition temperature that reaches 350°C.
Pay attention when working with the epoxy systems!
