This lump is pretty hard, 2 out of 20 sampled trouts were affected by this strange mass in the ventral area (also the fin is strangely red). When I dissected the trout, the inside of the excrescence looked red.
in general, disease differentiation based on pictures only is extremely difficult and impossible. Therefore only a few ideas. Such phenomena as shown can originate from an intensive furunculosis infection, but a lot of other reasons may be possible also. My suggestion is to contact a local fish vet, who is able to differentiate the infection.
Furunkulos, i.e. the bacteria Aeromonas salmonicida salmonicida can cause bleeding around the fin bases. But I agree, the best is to contact a fish vet for a better answer.
may be this was atypical Aeromonas salmonicida ssp.salmonicida at the beginning of disease . Because for this disease ulcears or sores on the body are more suitable signs.
But may be this is Vibrio vulnificus,it causes haemorrhages and reddening on fins, I met with such cases in fish. You have to make bactriological tests.
