I use extensively SPSS. I use Descriptive statistics, Causal Statistics (Regression, Factor Analysis, Cluster Analysi, ....)

I am highly satisfied.

Now days there is Structural Equation Modelling which is becoming popular. Any one familiar with using it?

What is your satisfaction level for using spss, smart pls, or AMOS in analysing your research data?

Hi Prof Chua, following are my response:

SPSS: 5 = Highly Satisfied (because it covers all the basic descriptive & inferential statistical techniques for univariate analyses as well as very user friendly GUI for a quantitative researcher to use).

Smart PLS: 4 = Satisfied (because it demonstrates its rich features in Partial Least Squares / Variance-based SEM as well as user friendly GUI vs other PLS software).

AMOS: 4 = Satisfied (because it is useful in Covariance-based SEM plus its straight forward to use pictorial diagramming tool to draw the research model).

Apart from the unique features and context requirements for each software, I experience highest satisfaction with Smart PLS. It is very user- friendly.

Second place goes to SPSS as it allows to conduct basic studies without much bothering.

Third is AMOS. Using it made me bit exhausting though it facilitates few unique analyses such as correlation analysis with graphical illustrations.

I belief that SmartPLS is very user friendly but still debate in using academy e.g. a several Journal do not accept it. AMOS using SEM technique is a sophisticated software, it is always though for analysis. Even sometimes users are unable to run data using AMOS whereas PLS is very easy to run data.  For the conduct basic analysis, SPSS gives me pleasure.

I personally don't have much experience in using AMOS (3 = not sure) and don't have any experience with SmartPLS. I have been using SPSS for years and I like the software (5 = Highly Satisfied). However, after taking a few statistic and research courses using Mplus program (https://www.statmodel.com/programs.shtml), I started to use both SPSS and Mplus program for my research.

To work more in scientific and reliable way, the use of SPSS helps the researcher to use a number of different statistical tools such that paired t- test, ANOVA, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), chi squire test, and so on.
