In fact, i like the idea. It reminds me of the Access Program in which I used to teach different activities among them drama. I usually choose drama text on the basis of the students' level. We read it, explain, it, discuss it, and play it. Sometimes, we adapt it or add some changes. Other times, students work in groups and prepare whole plays that they bring to class and work on them. Most of the drama text are meant to be performed. The results were more than perfect. Whenever you get out of the box, students perform well. Acting it is the key.

Thus there is internalization of the language thru an assimilation in such activity. The students can express better because it is a dramatic activity. Thus, drama or role-play can be a very good avenue for students to enhance their English language skills.

Hi personally, I am agreeing with the idea of teaching English through drama texts in class. The student will be more exposed to how the English language will be used as the medium of communication in the context of a native speaker or English-speaking country. Alternately, it will help to improve their speaking skills and can boost their confidence level as well. We also can view this in the context of the psychological language development of children that is different from adults. Children are able to obtain and absorb language information faster from their surroundings, be it morphology, syntax, or phonetics aspects.

I associate with your idea but care should be taken so that the objectives of the lesson can be achieved.
