Not an original question, but are we any the wiser in the 2 millennia since Pilate asked it? But can we not now agree that this is a question Science cannot answer, and should not even be trying to. Rather, it should concentrate on combating untruth, which it is perfectly equipped to do. Truth-testing should be left to religions, although one religion's truth is heresy to other religions, or to philosophers. Science can and should be attacking false news, lies and alternative truths, as these can objectively be shown to be untrue. Truth and untruth are not symmetrical opposites.
It is the ability to tell anything as it is without any emotion.
