But now at 2018, what is the main requirement of marriage?
Getting offspring/ Companion/ Sex/ Family or the initial reasons are still valid?

Marriage was not created only for that purpose. Previous to marriage there was a natural union between a man and a woman. This attachment is a natural institution and shall live forever.

Many use marriage as a platform to gain riches. Others mostly for pleasure. Yet, true marriages are for love and companionship with no selfish interests.

I think the philosophy behind marriage has not changed entire; however, in the 21st century marriage is seen as companionship but less procreation. Now, men marry men; and women marry women.

In many current societies, love, sex, friendship, children, and also religious blessing can be found without marriage. So practically it is mainly a legislative convention to rule heritage, parent's and children's legal rights and duties. However, for many people, it might emotionally their relationship.
Very sensible question. This will just depends on culture. For me mariage is like any other thing like commitment to a person of the same sex or else. Mariage is not imperative it is just a choice of life.

Good question. My opinion is there is no change its utility. Marriage was a main partnership in human life and still it is.
1. The one-pair-marriage is a Greek-Christian legacy in Western World.

The alternative kind of living togehter for getting offspring is known as polygamy, which exists in several forms; one man with more than one woman (polygyny) or polyandry (more then one man, often brothers resp. relatives, share one women; this model is rather rare but exists (or existed) in some econonically poor regions of agriculture); it was or is known in some indigenious peoples that the young generations becoming adult live on in their clans but the sexes as a pair come only together at certain times for procreation of offspring; that there also exists mutual affection is not exluded.
3. The main interest in offspirng is evolutionary, social-historically and economically the main motive for llving together of different sexes, not "love" in the modern meaning.

The modern state has a great interest to protect marriage and family by law; living together without marriage is, longtime-seen, a danger for the public and the ordered relationships, apart from the relatively strong influence of religious institutions (Church etc.) to regulate all living together for moral reasons. But also as regulating principal of order and political power. Of course are such regulations by law also a certain protection for women and children.
5. In polygam living societies it is clear that a man who wants more than one wife needs an secure economical basis to realize this. I believe human suffering is the by product of pain which often beclouds married lives with harsh experiences; however, pain has the advantage of turning suffering into wisdom. Sharing ,therefore, helps a marriage and the couples therein with in depth emotional ties which strengthen the foundation of a marriage. Interestingly, sharing should also include the bight side of life as well such as fortunes and memorable moments of joy and happiness.

Such question has never occurred in my mind Good question and after thinking a lot all that we expect is achievable without the marriage in the ever changing world.

Children feel secure when surrounded by loving parents and grandparents. With only one parent there will be a problem in later life. All those initial reasons still valid.
The initial reasons are still valid, but modified, plus additional reasons that arise from the new time. So marriage nowadays requires much more from spouses, and maybe it's why the marriage do not survive and is not eternal, at least for most of them.
The utility of marriage is less these days compared to decades ago. Both partners are earning now more so than before and thus the requirement for a person to be married for financial support and security is not present.One still marries to have children, some level of stability and for income tax reduction purposes.
