I have been using extensively US data from different sources and mainy the Bureau Census to analyze migration to and from different countries. Data is quite confident. The main issue are the indicators. The main problem is comparative analysis, where other census are limited and several categories are not comparable. Two publications available in my researchgate site can be of intertest in this regard: Ten Myths about Migration and Development: Revelations involving the México-United States Experience and  TOWARDS AN ASSESSMENT OF MIGRATION, DEVELOPMENT AND HUMAN RIGHTS LINKS: CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK AND NEW STRATEGIC INDICATORS.
