Suppose that you did not participate of any discussion here. You never asked or answered any question, however you have an excellent scientific production... What is the maximum value your RG score can achieve? In order to clarify this point, we performed a simple analisys by plotting the RG score of some researchers versus their total impacts. Then, we fitted a double exponential curve to the data (see the figure attached). As it seems, by considering only the publications, the maximum RG score is about 50. What you think about this? The most interesting is that I found a researcher without impact, but with a 75.42 RG score, which was achieved by a single well-formulated and very popular question !
I think what is really important is the quality of work of the researcher. Once you read a paper you will know the real impact of that work. This is something you don't measure with IF or RGS. Even journals are not fair sometimes, it depends on many things. Researchgate for me is more than score or IF, is a way to contact other researchers from all over the world some of them were just names you read their work or you cite them in your work. Now you can follow them, ask them their papers, discuss with them a methodology, a paper .... That is great but the website can be better!

I agree with both of you...
I also enjoy RG and I also consider this site as an amazing way to contact and, eventually, colaborate with researchers worldwide. For me, this is main advantage of RG in comparison to other similar social networks...
On the other hand, there is a pretention that RG score may be considered in the future as an indicator of scientific reputation. As we can note in the preliminar analysis that I performed (Did you saw the attached graph?), there is, in my viewpoint, an unbalance between the value of publications and the value of contributions in the form of answers and questions... That is, while the maximum RG score that a researcher can achieve only by considering its impact points is of order of 50, it is possible to get much more only by considering their answers and questions... For me, this looks as an enormous mistake, which should be corrected in some way. Otherwise, it will be very difficult the scientific comunity consider the RG score as a respectable "reputation index"...
So far, I have paid only very little attention to my RG score, although, once it is there, it is nice to see it growing (slowly). Still, that only appeases my ego, and seems to mean nothing else (as far as I can tell).
So, I do not take RG score very seriously yet. In any case, working on my research and papers, and separately on my teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, seems to me to be the best ways to make a real and lasting contribution. I do not expect my contributions will be accurately measured while I am around, and in any case, I am not Poincare, so I can only hope for so much!
On the other hand, it is nice to engage in discussion, and it seems some people have looked at my papers because of my participation here. So, perhaps some new friends will result, and also maybe some traction on my research questions; both very nice to see.

In my analysis, the term "total impact" refers to the sum of the impact factors of all articles published by an author (considering journals with JCR). This sum is calculated by RG and displayed at the right side of the author name as "impact points", which is marked with a little gray square (e.g.: the value of my "total impact" (impact points) is 25.79...
The issue discussed here (I feel that some colleagues have not understood yet), is that, while only by participating in the RG topics (Question & Answers) it is possible to get a score much higher than 50, the average maximum punctuation attributed to the impact points is, at the limit, equal to 50. This make us to think that the scientific publications of the authors has been depreciated in comparison to their punctuations acquired in participations in RG topics...
Anyway, as I said above, I agree with Zeiri that the most important (and relevant) feature of RG lies in its amazing interaction tools for researchers of all places of the world, mainly for who lives in developing countries as in my case...
I think all such "estimations of significance" do not deserve a serious relationship. :)
