What is the step should be for cyclic hardening in abaqus?

Dear All,

I am trying to build a cyclic hardening model in abaqus. The loading is a stress sinusoidal function Stress=Asin(wt). Which one of the following is the correct 'Step' set up?

(1) Creat Step>General>Static,General,

(2) Creat Step>General>Direct cyclic,

(3) Creat Step> Linear perturbation>Freqency.

It would be great if you can also explain the difference among them.
