What is the statistical method that can be used to evaluate performance characteristics of immunoassay results in absence of gold standard rather than Bayesian theorem ?
Dear Nour, for assay performance, including immunoassay performance, you have to check some methodological aspects.
Some methodological parameters for the assay performance do not need to golden standard. For example precision is very importance in any assay performance. For assay precision assessment you do not need golden standard and by repeat different rang samples within and between run and calculating CV% is reachable.
This is true about the assay sensitivity, assay specificity, assay work of range and so on.
But about the assay accuracy, only absolute accuracy need golden standard, but for relative accuracy check, including e.g. recovery tests and parallelism test, you do not need golden standard too.
