Currently I am working on a sandbox experiment to study the nature of salt domes. Now I want to determine the stress/strain fields based on camera images, is there any way other than PIV method to do this task? (I can not access a PIV system).
The strain ellipse ratio can be measured by drawing/marking original circles on the model before deformation that accommodate to ellipses after running the analogue model . the measurement can be done step wise. other methods are available for numerical modeling of deformation.
