I initiated a dialog in the field at the outset of 1980s at LSU, USA. The outcome was a master's course and a world forum, J. of International and comparative social welfare (now published by Routldge as International Journal of Comparative Social Policy. I have had nothing but challenges during the last 4 decades!!!! I still contend that Comparative Analysis must be a required offering in all social sciences.
