Now I see the picture it could be Laurencia as you said. One main character of Laurencia is a depression in the tip of the branches. If the algae u show in the picture had it, so you can confirm it s Laurencia.
It is almost impossible to identify this specimen since the pictures are not clear but it looks like one of the genera of Laurencia complex and may be species of the genus Osmundea
