I'm working on a large watershed in Nigeria with the intention to see the impact of flooding. I'm using HEC-GeoHMS. I want to know the scale of each of the data that i will be using particularly, rainfall data. I have access to only daily rainfall records.
You should provide more details on your study area. It is mentioned it s a large watershed. Kindly provide the area to know how big it is. Also, what do you mean the scale here? time scale or spatial coverage?. I try to provide some hints regard to . By mentioning HEC-HMS, this means that you are going to use lumped model or semi-distributed model for the rainfall-runoff simulation. The rainfall station covers an area of a circle of 50Km diameter. You can use either thiessen polygon or isohyetal methods to compute the average of rainfall over the watershed. I recommend to use one of the rainfall products. Rainfall Estimate (RFE) product from January 2001 was implemented by NOAA's Climate Prediction Center. The data set, created by Ping-Ping Xie (1997) can be downloaded from: http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/GIS/GIS_DATA/rfe/

Thank you so much. The answer really help. The scale i was talking about is the spatial scale. Then, the watershed covers about 100-200km2.
