I extracted time series of flood water extent area in google earth engine for a number of river sites. I also have streamflow data of the same site. I am supposed to determine if the extracted areas can be used as a proxy for streamflow.

As streamflow can be used for Trend analysis or Frequency Analysis using Gumbel's method. Can one also use the same method for Trend analysis of the extracted water extent area data?
