Health literacy is a key determinant of health in developing countries. Maybe the most important aside poverty and gender-related inequalities. But, doctors cannot do this work alone. A multi-sectorial approach will be more benefiting. Communities should be more interested in improving the overall education or literacy rates of the population. Health education should be emphasised in the curriculum of schools. Community leaders should also use a faith-based approach organising health talks in churches and mosques across Angola to improve knowledge in health.
education about health is crucial and an important aspect to avoid disease. Often it is assume ´d that in developing countries such health literacy is lacking, but also in so-called developed countries I see huge deficits when e.g. I look at nutritional behavior of people.
