Social network like Facebook is very much in vogue these days. How do you think could this be of help to improve teaching and the relationship between teachers and their students? Do you use social networking in your teaching?
Social networking will definitly increase the student teacher interaction. According to a study conducted by Unversity of Glasgow, most of the students found that social media has enhanced the learning experience.
"The college - wide survey indicated that 68% thought social media could enhance their learning experience. 22% indicated that it would not add any value or would cause distraction, whilst 10% were unsure".
Social medias can be used as a platform for immediate student- teacher interaction. It will also help the students to get in touch with different professionals which will aid to clear their doubts and enhance their learning experience. Now one must understand the risks associated with social media, Privacy issues and opportunities for misunderstanding and miscommunication.
