What is the relation between gel strength and dye absorbance capacity?

What is the relation between gel strength and dye absorbance capacity? As for as my knowledge is concerned the higher the hydrogen bonding in gel leads more gel strength. So if higher gel strength what is the dye absorbance capacity?
