It's a (lab) simulation in which a group of people are brought together and create a "society". The group establishes norms and values and as some members leave, new members are brought in and automatically take on the established ways of doing things. The experiment shows how traditions shape our thinking. BTW, It's not the Zimbardo prison experiment, however I believe it was conducted around the same time---1970 or earlier? It's not recent.
