I would like to ask your opinions about my experiment result.
This is I-t curve result of the experiment.
It is Oxidation current of 0.1M KClO4 using Boron Doped Diamond electrode.
As we can see, Under the same voltage ( 2.04V vs SHE), There are significant differences between several times measurements,
I thought electrode can be deactivated.
But I couldn't find the factor for deactivation of the electrode.
Would you please suggest for your opinion about why the current had a significant difference,
and what can be done to enhance reproducibility?

Dear Jieun, it looks as if the electrode is passivated, i.e. after removal of the potential, some part of the passivated surface remains on your BDD electrode. This is a typical characteristic e.g. for valve metals (Al, Ta, Ti, Zr, ...). But you need additional electrochemical and analytical measurements to confirm such a behaviour for your samples. The active surface is reduced due to passivation, maybe other adsorbed species or change of the electrode. To quantify the reduction calculation of charge is maybe a good idea, so with an assumption of the same reaction current you might get an idea of how much of the surface is covered. Did you try reduction steps after each 600s? This would maybe remove some of the passivating Then you can distinguish between passivation or other reasons for current reduction.
