What is the reason of rubber-like mass in the synthesis process of polyacrylic acid?

I'm working as R&D chemist

while i was synthesizing poly acrylic acid by using free radical polymerization it gives me a rubber-like mass after 2 hrs from feeding acrylic acid (75%)

i was using Sodium metabisulphite and Hydrogen peroxide as initiators.
