When my work for the completion of a research on the attenuation of gamma rays, using HPGe spectrum. shows that an increase in the net peak area for some material in a high gamma energies than that of a point source itself (without using any material between the source and detector), while there is a good attenuation at low energies. So, what are the reasons for increasing the gamma rays for the high energies?
