I mixed including graphene (GR) 0,1M SDS and HNO3 (65-70%) 1:1, then, I kept at room temperature for 10-12 h. After then, I saw two phases. GR (or graphene oxide) stood between them. Can you describe to me what reaction was between them?
In principle I suspect a surfactant rich layer at top and the dense layer of nitric acid at the bottom. This may happen without any reaction. Likely same happens when you mix concentrated nitrate solution, graphene and SDS solution without any reaction.
Of course hydrolysis of SDS, forming dodecyl alcohol and partly oxidation of the alkyl chain may also proceed.
