Hello.
I want to calculate a real GDP series. I don't have formal deflator data, so I have to transform it from the price index. But my problem is that my inflation series base year is 2003. But the dataset starts in 2005 (There is no information about 2004). Because of that, I can't calculate a chain price index. So how can I solve the problem?
I can take 2004:100 and chained it for next years, but I think it doesn't work (I didn't find any sample article which uses that way)
