My answer: the probability that in the process of awarding doctorates that bureaucracy has inverse relationship to rigor, is parsimonious and critical. Just because a highly bureaucratic structure awards a doctorate for an approved work does not mean that awarding is rigorously matched with merits and or use to society, and or the rigor and or originality of the works in question to be awarded with the doctorates.
Bureaucracy is a very important topic. Office rule, that is, administrative work, means routine, and most developing countries suffer from it. Despite technological progress, modernization, and electronic governance in state departments, some countries still deal with bureaucracy in administrative work.
Alexander Ohnemus i agree. universities are becoming increasingly bureaucratic and stifling creativity. It is also more about money than in the past. Today universities are run like businesses. Profit from fees is all important and that has lead to a lowering of standards.
Buenos días. Saludos colegas investigadores. La pregunta sobre el otorgamiento de doctorados por cantidad de universidades. Unas veces de renombre, otras veces con escasa popularidad, tiene que ver con los hechos políticos que rodean los procesos educativos, especialmente, los populistas. Habría que analizar hasta donde podrían las mejores universidades soportar ese fenómeno. Por otra parte, es menester examinar las estructuras burocráticas que se "han enquistado" en las academias. Claro, lo menciono desde mi lógica personal y sin tratar de herir susceptibilidades y lo que pudiera ser considerado por muchos investigadores como vacas sagradas.
