What is the possible uv-visible range for the characteriztion of carbon nanodots?

Uv-visible spectroscopy is used as a confirmation tool for the formation of nanoparticles. LIke, if there is absorption at 500nm or above it means there is formation of gold nanoparticles, depending upon their size absorption band have a red shift, can this range can go below 500nm or above 600nm? or it is always necessary to have absorption of AuNps between 500nm-600nm?
