For instance for 2016 IFs is the evaluation period from Jan-to-Dec 2016 or July 2016 to June 2017?
It is January to December.

The calculation takes into account two whole previous years. For the year 2016 the number of the publications of this year is divided by the sum of the citations of 2014 and 2015.
