Im currently embarking upon a new study to enhance the measurement of suicide intent after a suicide attempt in hospital settings, and from what we have observed from case records already, the questions on Becks Suicide Intent Scale does not completely represent the actuality of the suicide attempt, nor is it always feasible. In addition to this, many of the questions are open to interpretation. Therefore, a new more robust and reliable measure is required... but what should it entail? Can any research clinicians out there shed some light on this please?
