that'll depend on specific application. For example, in grid-tie PV systems, many inverters support
high input voltage, so in this type of application, the most efficient way to arrange solar panels is in series.
In this way the current in DC conductors is smaller and therefore the power losses. However, this kind of connection,
leaves the problem that partial shade could cause great decrease in generation capacity.

Arrangement of solar panels depends on the inverter input voltage and the power capacity.
The optimal way to arrange solar panels to collect the maximum solar power is the commonly seen linear arrays. Ideally, these arrays will track the motion of the sun so that the panels are always exactly perpendicular to light from the sun.
