For nickel laterite containing 0.6% Ni, the most efficient method would probably be hydrometallurgy. A common method is the HPAL (High-Pressure Acid Leaching) process, which uses sulfuric acid to extract nickel from laterite. The HPAL process is used to treat nickel laterites with low nickel content, such as those containing less than 1% nickel.
