Dear Dr. Elzain,

1.A method is use of Alpha Guard or other active instruments that measures radon in water. First of all, radon must be stored at least 25 days to achieve full radioactive equilibrium with radium parent.  If managed, not to loose radon, the radon conentration in water will be equal to the one of radium.

2.Passive methods employ use of CR-39, LR-115 or other SSNTD in direct contact with water.  Significant relevant Monte-Carlo work is from Dr.Reazaie for CR-39 in water samples. He is in RG also.

3.Of course one can employ other methods. For example properly calibrated Marinelli beakers with accurate gamma spectrometry.

From a financial point of view, SSNTDs are the best choice.
