Is it used for aldose reductase inhibitors or senile cataract?

I also got through the same question. What I found through different literature is that the metabolism of Naphthalene to 1,2-dihydroxynaphthalene is the critical step in naphthalene cataract formation. The reaction has long been thought to

be catalyzed by dihydrodiol dehydrogenase. It is not clear if Aldose Reductase is responsible for conversion of naphthalene to 1,2-dihydroxynaphthalene.
