In the 1960s there was a childrens' TV program called Camberwick Green and it ends with a puppet scrolling the credits, so children know it's man-made (see YouTube), whereas now with media there is the created illusion that some how whatever the product, 'media' per se was subservient to it and a servant of the creators, which can be a dangerous lie.
One view, one culture -monoculture, is equal to the destruction of diversity. this is one of the perils we are facing, as mono-crops (to feed the West), destroy biodiversity. The eradication of dissent via imperial propaganda destroys democracy and inflicts a wound on sovereignty, autonomy, and free speech that equals creativity, ingenuity, and multi and trans-disciplinary approaches to the problems we face as species on the planet. Media imperialism flattens a world and tells only one story in only one language (at a time in which we need multiple voices and ways to name and be in the world). Media imperialism sanitizes coloniality, erases differences (class, color, gender), and produces a "disciplined" society, bounded by imposed ways to see the world. Media imperialism is its own enemy, as the imperial power is prone to decadence, to isolation, and finally, collapse. Media imperialism is a media of excess, as an invasive species looks to terraform all in its own image, one that is not sustainable (attainable), or desirable.
Media imperialism has both positive and negative effects. On the positive side, it facilitates the dissemination of culture and ideas. However, on the negative side, it promotes the development of a homogeneous culture and ideology, which can lead to ignorance. For the ruling class, media imperialism is a tool to control discourse and maintain their power.
Media Imperialism phrase is a negative note, and it is negative of negative groups of people, the immoral groups and individuals play bad with fake, false by exaggeration and intimidating.
