What is the meaning of a monotonic phase drift while conducting a Lock In Amplifier (SR-830) measurement?

While measuring a weak signal (2mV RMS upon a ~10MegaOhm device) with digital LIA (SR-830), monotonic phase shift is observed along the R signal (attached photo - signal on the left, phase on the right).

Occurs only for certain Pre-amp gains, filters and time constant parameters.

Shouldn't it be strict and constant for a well-locked measure?
