Does anyone who have studied or know the seed color and embryonic inherence ability in citrus? For example, a green mono embryonic material as maternal parent, then cross with a white multi-embryonic material as paternal parent, what their progenies seed color and embryonic would be like?
Citrus and many other species and families not all embryos some of them come from asexual Appoma. they are embryoid not embryos ... since, their sources are cloned not resulted from pollination , fertilization and fusion. These seeds sustain the color of the mother parent. If which other wise, seeds come from fusion, color might be changed, where in most instance mother is dominated

Dear Xiaohui Zhou Genes in plant are of two types nuclear and cytoplasmic regards to Mitochondria and Chloroplast. All most cytoplasmic denoted to female Macro spore, and there are continuous gene communication between them. Notwithstanding, to answer your question, we need to detect the genes responsible for color expression, weather it cytoplasmic or nucleic or combination between both. Besides, are these genes recessive or dominants. Such studies are time consumes, however, it deserve investigations. Thanks indeed .
